When it comes to our ‘That’ll Flat Git It’ series, the vaults of Columbia Records are the gift that just keeps on giving and giving and giving. The label’s fourth installment in the series is loaded with familiar faces doing their best to rock your socks off, whether it’s Carl Perkins blasting through Jive After Five and Pop, Let Me Have The Car, Johnny Horton admitting I Don’t Like I Did, or The Collins Kids blazing as always on The Cuckoo Rock.

Despite being the ultimate in established major labels, Columbia allowed its unparalleled roster of country luminaries to occasionally indulge their hodden rockabilly urges - witness storming sides here by Little Jimmy Dickens, Johnny Bond, Jimmy Murphy, and Rose Maddox.

There are rarities on board too, by The Tunesmiths, Wally Hughes, David Frizzell, Jim Burgett, and Charlie Adams, while Ersel Hickey, Bill Craddock, and Ronnie Self look at the prospect of rock and roll from a more youthful perspective. Perhaps New York-based old school mainstay Columbia couldn’t quite claim the cachet of Sun Records, but without question its rockabilly battalion hit every bit as hard!

That'll Flat Git It CD-Album-Series with Rockabilly Music

Classic Rockabilly on CD

Back in 1992, we had the idea that we should create the all-time definitive Rockabilly CD-Album-Series, That'll Flat Git It! - Above all, Rockabilly was music recorded for 45RPM singles, so we designed a CD-Album-Serie label-by-label instead of artist-by-artist. And we compiled it for listening pleasure. Just the great stuff, plus a few super rarities.

Every of these That'll Flat Git It CDs would be for the most part a 30 song jukebox of the finest Rockabilly ever recorded for all the great labels. We sourced the very best sounding tapes and took them to the best mastering engineers. On top we took the packaging to a new level.

We adopted the catchphrase of the first Rockabilly dee-jay, Dewey Phillips, 'That'll Flat Git It!', and we hired Bill Millar, who'd compiled the still-classic label-oriented LPs in the 1970s and 1980s, to write the notes. We looked for previously unpublished photos, and tried to find all the artists who'd never been found before.

The result is a truly definitive Rockabilly CD-Album-Serie

In many cases the numerous volumes of "That'll Flat Git It!" will contains some records you already have, but surely every volume contains great rockin' tunes you have never heard. They are all worth adding to your collection.
