Angelina Monti was born on 22 August 1941 in Rimini, on the Italian Adriatic coast. The daughter of a violinist, she grew up in Italy. After finishing school, she took singing lessons and began singing in her father's orchestra as a chorus singer. During a tour in southern Germany, Angelina Monti came to the attention of the Süddeutscher Rundfunk. The family settled in Germany and a first recording contract soon followed.
At the end of 1959, the first single was released with the title "Junge Liebe", a cover version of the Barbara Allen song "My Problem". With her second single "Wir wollen niemals auseinandergehn", however, Angelina Monti had no chance against the recording of Heidi Brühl.

Other successes followed, such as "Sechzehn Gründe", "Das Herz einer Mutter" and "Tango italiano", which were well received but did not make it into the charts. Angelina Monti made numerous appearances with the orchestras of Kurt Edelhagen and Max Greger, among others. She appeared in TV music programmes and acted in several films.
