Wolfgang Roloff (Ronny) and Wolfgang Börner formed the German duo "Bob und Eddy". Wolfgang Roloff first trained as a sound engineer after school. In 1954 he was a member of the Valerie Trio alongside Wolfgang "Eddy" Börner and Valerie Hueck.

After Valerie Hueck left the band, Wolfgang Roloff and Eddy Börner performed as the duo "Bob und Eddy". They released a number of successful singles, but could not place themselves in the German charts. After the lack of success, they parted ways. Wolfgang Börner produced instrumental recordings for various radio stations and later worked as a music teacher, Roloff continued his musical career.

At the beginning of the 60s Wolfgang Roloff's successful solo career began, known as "Ronny" with the number 1 hits "Oh My Darling Caroline", "Kenn ein Land" and "Kleine Annabell" (all 1964). In the 70s Roloff retired from the stage and continued to work successfully as a producer and composer, among others for Heintje, for whose greatest hits Wolfgang Roloff was responsible.
