Rock 'n' roll originated in America but such was its impact that it swept around the world like a tidal wave engulfing all other forms of then popular music in its path. Soon all countries had their own big beat belters, be it Johnny O'Keefe and Mery Benton in Australia, Johnny Devlin in New Zealand, Cliff Richard and Johnny Kidd in Great Britain and Ted Daigle in Canada to name but a few.

Many fell by the wayside but each country had its own idols whose appeal and showmanship developed to such an extent that they held their own show on stage against visiting American stars. Classics Records is proud to present another volume of its exciting series 'Rock Tit You Drop' and, by way of illustrating the previous commentary, have included tracks that originated in Australia, New Zealand, Holland and Canada that can hold their heads up high alongside the other stormers from the USA included on this compila-tion.
