Who was/is Fortunes ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more

Gitarrist und Sänger Glen Dale, Gitarrist und Sänger Barry Pritchard und Bassist Rod Allen begannen als Gesangstrio. Begleitet wurden sie von einer Gruppe, The Cliftons. Als die Beatles erfolgreich wurden, engagierten sie noch den Pianisten David Carr und den Schlagzeuger Andy Brown. Sie unterschieden sich von den meisten englischen Gruppen ihrer Zeit durch den im Vordergrund stehenden Harmoniegesang, wie ihn später Crosby, Stills, Nash Er Young wieder erfolgreich praktizierten. lhren ersten Hit hatten sie im Juli 1965 mit „You've got your Troubles'. Es ist ihr bis heute erfolgreichster Song. „Here it comes again' und „This golden Ring' waren weitere Hitparadenerfolge. 1969 nahmen sie die Single „Seasons in the Sun' auf, die 1974 in der Fassung von Terry Jacks der Superhit des_Jahres wurde. Die Fortunes selbst sind heute weitgehend unbekannt.
