Bongo A-Go-Go!!! But of course! How is it that El Vidocq has never enchanted this percussively practical instrument before? Indeed, the sonorous bongo, though modest in size, is quite hard to ignore. Straight out of the 50s and 60s, this instrument is always groovy and convivial and is readily associated with Quentin Tarantino, not to mention Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band. But as ever, our South West French music editor has proudly unearthed some rare treasures and dug deep into his ridiculous collection of original 45s to suggest some lush exotica, pop with an OST flair, R'n'B and R'n'R, bongo boogie, mambo and cha-cha-cha, pulsating swing ...
