Various - Beat: Das war ein harter Tag - Beatles Lieder

1-CD with 16-page booklet, 30 tracks. Playing time 74:06 minutes. Yeah Yeah Yeah! In Germany the Beatles fever spread like wildfire. By the end of 1964, 25 Beatles singles had been released – more than in any other country on earth. After the mother country England and the USA, Germany was the third-largest market for the music of the Fab Four. So it was an obvious step to resort to a then-common trick and re-sing the hits in German. A number of bands with brief success are represented on this CD, such as Didi & Die ABC Boys, the Sweetles and the Flamingos, as well as solo artists like Bill Ramsey, Claudia Gorden and Corry Brokken. Successful or less so, the German-language Beatles cover versions on this CD shared one and the same fate – they were all unsuccessful and quickly forgotten. That is what makes these singles sought-after collector's items today. Since many of these songs are being reissued here for the first time, this CD holds many a surprising rediscovery in store, and not only for Beatles fans.

Beat in Germany

The 60s Anthology

Diese CDs sind Teil der umfassenden Bear-Family-Reihe 'Smash...! Boom...!
