After years of playing violin with Oklahoma-based country singer, the Turnpike Troubadours, Kyle Nix has stepped up to the plate with a new role on his debut solo album "Lightning on the Mountain & Other Short Stories".

On the record, you will hear most troubadours roar as his backing band, but this is not an uninspired split or a half-baked restart of a good thing.

Lightning on the Mountain has an identity all its own - a Western-inspired collection of literary songs that tell stories from Nix's own history, but also from the many unique characters he "may or may not" have encountered during his years on the road.
