The fifth CD of the Rene Carol Edition, long awaited by collectors and fans. All the songs that the Berlin Troubadour recorded at Polydor from 1965 to 1973, from Andalusian wine to Wenn einmal in weitfern Tagen and Im Hafen von Piräus to love and wine can be heard in the best quality on this disc.

This publication is rounded off not only by an extensive accompanying book with a lot of information and partly unpublished photos, but also by two bonus titles: The Volga Song, previously only published in the medley, and the opera aria Farewell, my Flemish girl.

René Carol * April 11, 1920 - April 9, 1978 René Carol, bourgeois Gerhard Tschierschnitz, has been at the forefront of singers for years since his breakthrough in 1949 with "Am Zuckerhut" (supported by Danielle Mac and Willy Schneider) and his duet with Lonny Kellner, "Am Hafen von Adano". Until the mid-1960s, the handsome Berliner was at the forefront of dance and light music. The singer and favourite of women had his greatest hit in 1952 with "Red roses, red lips, red wine". Two years later, after 500,000 shellac records sold by Polydor, this recording earned him and his producer Kurt Feltz the first post-war golden record.
