Sie startete 1978 ihre Aufnahmekarriere und veröffentlichte bis 2017 insgesamt 14 Alben. 2011 gewann Lucinda Williams den 'Lifetime Achievement Award (Songwriting)' und ihr Album 'Down Where The Spirit trifft den Knochen' wurde 2015 zum 'Album des Jahres'.
