During the middle decades of the 20th century, the factories of southwestern Ohio attracted hundreds of thousands of migrants from Appalachia, many of whom were musicians. “Industrial Strength” celebrates the music these migrants played and loved, exploring the pivotal moment in the history of bluegrass and country music. Produced by popular performer and radio host Joe Mullins, this collection features a brilliant selection of bluegrass musicians including Rhonda Vincent, Bobby Osborne and Mullins himself, who embrace the tunes that resonated in Ohio for decades. This collection of some of the biggest names in bluegrass music today pays tribute to the exultant highs and lonely lows of life in factories and camps, while reflecting the rich culture and resilience of its people.
