Between 1962 and 1966, the Tornados (in many different line-ups) were a fixture in Joe Meek's production studio at 304 Holloway Road. From the worldwide hit "Telstar" to the soulful vocal tracks of the later years, the band's remarkable musicianship and Meek's inspired production techniques produced track after track of excellent and innovative 60s pop that led to a string of hits and near-hits around the world.

Love And Fury" features the Tornados' best material found in Joe Meek's legendary Tea Chest Tapes archive. From well-known hits (often at the original speed before Meek's speed-up process) to unknown rarities and curiosities, spread across 131 tracks presented in a previously unheard, pristine sound quality worthy of the Meek name, this is not only a treasure trove for fans of the Tornados and Joe Meek, but also for students of British recording history and the 1960s pop scene (let's not forget that Meek and the Tornados were number one in the US long before the Beatles). A wealth of demos, backing tracks and alternate versions also shed light on the working methods at 304 Holloway Road and give an insight into the production process of the pop scene that you won't find anywhere else.

Restored and mastered by Meek expert Alan Wilson, accompanied by notes from Craig Newton of the Joe Meek Society and previously unreleased footage, this latest edition in the Tea Chest Tapes series follows on from the previous Heinz and Glenda Collins box sets and explores the unique world of Joe Meek's Holloway Road studio hit machine.
