US blues rock musician Kenny Wayne Shepherd is releasing his new album "Goin' Home" at the beginning of May.

Five-time Grammy-nominated blues rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd is releasing his new album "Goin' Home" on Provogue / Mascot Label Group.
The album not only gives a broad insight into Shepherd's musical influences, but also includes guest appearances by some of his close friends and greatest contemporary musicians such as Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, Warren Haynes, Keb' Mo' Robert Randolph, Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds), Pastor Brady Blade Sr. and the Rebirth Brass Band.

"Goin' Home" contains songs originally recorded by Shepherd's idols such as B. B. King, Albert King, Bo Diddley, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Lee Dorsey and many other greats of the blues. He dug deep into their record boxes and chose the songs that inspired him when he was still learning to play the guitar himself.

"The result is a great album that I think does credit to the original music," says the 36-year-old musician. "At the same time, it expresses our admiration for the musicians and the genre that we've all been making music for decades."

Shepherd's band is a veritable "who's who" of rock and blues. In addition to longtime singer Noah Hunt, the band includes drummer Chris Layton (a new inductee into the Musicians Hall Of Fame in 2014 as a member of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble), former The Firm bassist Tony Franklin and keyboardist Riley Osbourn, whom Shepherd met by chance when he was still playing in Willie Nelson's band.
