While the goal of "This Machine Still Kills Fascists" was to raise awareness, "Okemah Rising" aims to raise the roof. Sure, there are one or two tender moments, but all in all, the focus here is on the party.

Even a party record can have a message - the band got a taste of that when Dropkick Murphys played the "Okemah Rising" songs "Gotta Get to Peekskill" and "I Know How It Feels" to thousands of fans on their German tour. Each night, as the audience sings along to Woody's words, his unwavering defense of the working class and his fight against social injustice and the abuse of political power comes through loud and clear. As long as Dropkick Murphys exists, Woody's values will be heard: defending the working class, fighting social injustice and the abuse of political power.

Okemah Rising is the latest installment in the collaboration between Woody Guthrie and Dropkick Murphys.
