"How I Go" has more guts than any other blues rock album in recent memory. Boogie-down masters, bassist Tommy Shannon and drummer Chris "Whipper" Layton (the legendary rhythm section of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble), are tougher than ever as they make their way through the album. Noah Hunt, longtime member of the band, sings lead vocals at his best.

The album opens with the Keith Richards-reminiscent riff of "Never Lookin' Back," and "Come On Over" rumbles along. The cover versions are performed with gusto and passion, including "Yer Blues" (Beatles), "Oh Pretty Woman" (Albert King) and a stomping rendition of Bessie Smith's "Backwater Blues" that really has to be heard to be believed. The album was produced by Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads.
