Following the well-received CDs of unreleased recordings of The Shadows made for BBC and TV, Dusty Tapes continues its series with the band's archives - the project called “In Concert”. It includes all of the band's concert recordings from the 60s that have been found so far. Of course, there is no guarantee that there are no undiscovered tapes of the band's performances in the band's archives or in private archives. If you find them, they will certainly be included in future releases.

Fortunately, there are over 140 tracks on the CDs, totaling almost seven and a half hours. They were recorded at 18 band concerts between 1961 and 1969. The sound of all the material has been meticulously restored. The speed of all the tracks has been corrected and the dates and recording methods have been described in detail. As with archive recordings, the quality of the material varies. From perfect recordings made directly from the mixing desks to very average recordings made amateurishly from the audience. Fortunately, recordings of very good quality predominate, especially considering the time of their creation. Furthermore, this material should be viewed primarily historically, as a chronicle of the concert activities of the best guitar band in history. All CDs are packaged in laminated, fold-out, colorful cardboard sleeves filled with scans of memorabilia related to the material presented. The discs themselves, whose imprint refers to the labels of English LPs from the 1960s, are housed in special printed sleeves. The series is another excellent addition to the band's catalog discography and a must-have for all fans of The Shadows.

Shadows

In 1958 guitarist Hank Marvin, guitarist Bruce Welch, bassist Jet Harris and drummer Tony Meeham joined forces to form a group called The Drifters to accompany Cliff Richard. Due to name disputes with the American group Drifters, they later renamed themselves Shadows.

In 1961 Brian Bennet joined the drums for Tony Meeham and Jet Harris was replaced by Brian Locking and John Rostill. The Shadows reaped considerable success with instrumental songs such as "Apache', "Atlantis" or "Frightened City' and as studio group Cliff Richards. In 1970 the Shadows split up to reunite in November 1973 with Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, Brian Bennet and newcomer John Farrar. In this formation they also recorded their last LP "Rockin' with curly leads' and in 1975 they represented Great Britain at the "Grand Prix de la Chanson' in Stockholm, where they took second place.
