The Shadows: FBI - A Collection Of Rare Studio, Live And Radio Recordings 1959-1962 (CD)
(Dusty Tapes) 34 tracks, digisleeve
- 5 very rare studio recordings in perfect quality (including the stereo and true “wide” version of the famous FBItrack - the stereo versions previously released on CD had either a terrible sound or a narrowed panorama; a completely different, early recording of Guitar Tango - still with Jet Harris on bass; “clean” version of the Happy Birthday To You track - version known from Cliff Richards LP - 21 Today has an overdubbed sound The Shadows play.
- 8 BBC recordings in truly perfect quality (including unreleased versions of Man of Mysteryand Perfidia)
- 11 concert recordings from the Paris Olympia from 1961/1962 (in top quality), compiled into a smooth concert (without silent applause), supplemented by recordings in somewhat poorer quality, but very valuable for collectors, recordings of British television appearances and other concerts from this period (including the unique vocal piece More Than I Can Say, to which the Banderst returned in 1981 on the album Hits Right Up in instrumental and other arrangementsYourStreet)
- 7 tracks from the session for Radio Luxembourg (unfortunately only preserved in pure collector quality outside the broadcast, but sounding really decent here) - 4 of these compositions (Cerveza,Barney's Blues, Licorice, Three-30-Blues) have never been released on a band album before!!!!
- All recordings have been very carefully remastered from the best preserved copies and, importantly, apart from the optimal (for archive recordings) sound, they have the corrected speed. This edition is available in a laminated cardboard gatefold sleeve with a special cover for the album, modeled after the covers of the band's British singles from 1960-1962.

Shadows
In 1958 guitarist Hank Marvin, guitarist Bruce Welch, bassist Jet Harris and drummer Tony Meeham joined forces to form a group called The Drifters to accompany Cliff Richard. Due to name disputes with the American group Drifters, they later renamed themselves Shadows.
In 1961 Brian Bennet joined the drums for Tony Meeham and Jet Harris was replaced by Brian Locking and John Rostill. The Shadows reaped considerable success with instrumental songs such as "Apache', "Atlantis" or "Frightened City' and as studio group Cliff Richards. In 1970 the Shadows split up to reunite in November 1973 with Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, Brian Bennet and newcomer John Farrar. In this formation they also recorded their last LP "Rockin' with curly leads' and in 1975 they represented Great Britain at the "Grand Prix de la Chanson' in Stockholm, where they took second place.
