As 2020 turns into 2021, two CDs are released with a total of 51 tracks by The Shadows recorded for BBC radio between 1959 and 1968. Many of the recordings in these versions have never before been released on a Shadows album. This sensational collection, entitled “Lost BBC Sessions”, would never have been made without the great commitment and dedication of the band's fans who recorded radio broadcasts with the Shadows on their home tape recorders in the 1950s/60s. They deserve our thanks for ensuring that these priceless recordings are preserved for posterity. The CDs contain exclusively “off-air” recordings, but in really very good/excellent sound quality. Only two or three of the absolutely unique titles will be included in poorer sound quality (for collector and historical reasons). Both CDs will be released in laminated, color cardboard sleeves with a special cover for the CD and an insert with detailed descriptions of the recordings and professionally edited recording data. All recordings have been remastered from the best available sources with optimum sound restoration and corrected speed. These sets contain all known surviving “off-air” recordings and have been specially compiled to celebrate the band's 60th anniversary. They are an absolute must for all fans and collectors of The Shadows recordings.
