Looking back to the year 1971, a song is running up and down all over Germany: "Zeig mir den Platz an der Sonne", the song by Udo Jürgens for the ARD television lottery.

But he's not lying in the sun, he's sitting at the piano day and night for a new project, a children's album. He has quick-living templates for the songs at home. Jonny and Jenny, just seven and four years old. They also give the longplayer its name: "Jonny & Jenny - Alle Kinder dieser Welt".

As a lyricist, Udo had been able to win over the multi-award-winning rhyming artist and children's book author James Krüss. The man who, among other things, wrote the story of Timm Thaler. Udo and James created happy, but also thoughtful songs about being a child, being human, about the earth we all live on.

A few passages of text in the songs written 50 years ago could be misunderstood today. But neither a Udo Jürgens nor a James Krüss would ever have spread messages directed against love.

Now 18 of the children's songs are available on a new album, plus four bonus tracks that were not written for children but fit harmoniously into the context. Songs that have stayed and will stay. To feel with, laugh with, dance with, listen to and give away.
