4CD box set featuring the seminal US rock band of the 70s, Fanny, often referred to as the “Godmothers of Women Who Rock”.
- Compilation of their repertoire from 1970 to 1973.
- The most comprehensive collection in over 20 years brings together the band's four studio albums as well as many singles, B-sides and lively live performances from this period when they were signed to Reprise Records
. CD1: The band's 1970 debut album, “Fanny”, produced by Richard Perry, plus 10 associated bonus tracks, including the single version of “Changing Horses”, the German single version of “Seven Roads” and the B-side version of the album track “Shade Me”. All appear on CD for the first time.
CD2: “Charity Ball” was released in 1971 and was the band's second album, again produced by Richard Perry. All eleven tracks from the original album are included, as well as the single version of the title track “Charity Ball” and demos from this period.
CD3: The eleven track album “Fanny Hill” was released in 1973 and is included here with ten bonus tracks, including the single version of “Ain't That Peculiar”, various live performances and additional tracks.
CD4: Todd Rundgren was recruited to produce the band's final album for Reprise Records. “Mother's Pride”, released in 1974, contains 13 tracks as well as eight bonus tracks, including the single versions of ‘Summer Song’, ‘Wonderful Feeling’, ‘I Need You Need Me’ and ‘Last Night I Had A Dream’.
All tracks come from the Warner Bros. tape archives. Eight tracks appear on CD for the first time. The CD is presented in a gatefold box, with each CD housed in a printed cardboard sleeve. The CD booklet contains exclusive notes from band members June and Jean Millington and Alice De Buhr, who share their memories of the period. There is also a discography from the UK.

Amerikanische Mädchen-Rockgruppe, die vor allem in England sehr populär war. Gegründet wurde sie 1967 von den beiden Schwestern June und Jean Millington. Als Töchter eines britischen Marineoffiziers und einer Philippinin wurde Gitarristin und Sängerin June am 14.4.1949 geboren. Bassistin Jean kam am 25. 5.1950 in Manila zurWeIt. Sie gingen als Schülerinnen nach Kaliforninen, traten in Folkclubs auf und trafen dabei Schlagzeugerin Alice de Buhr (geboren 4.9.1950 in Mason City) und die Organistin Nickey Barclay (geboren 21.4.1951 in Washington). Schon kurz nach Veröffentlichung der ersten LP „Fanny“ 1971 gab's gute Kritiken. Fanny waren die erste Gruppe, in der nur Mädchen spielten und dennoch ernstgenommen wurde. Sogar Barbra Streisand begleiteten sie als Studiomusikerinnen bei Plattenaufnahmen. 1973 kriselte es in der Gruppe, im August stieg June Millington aus, dann folgte Alice de Buhr im Dezember, und im Dezember 1974 stieg auch noch Nickey . Barclay aus. Für June kam die Schweste von Suzi Quatro zur Gruppe, als Schlagzeugerin kam Cara Davies. Eine Platte wurde in dieser Trio-Besetzung noch. nicht aufgenommen.
