The cool girl garage bands Hairem, Girls, Debutantes, Missfits, Beat-Chics and Ace Of Cups are the stars of this new vinyl edition of the captivating 'Girls With Guitars' series from Ace Records.

The collection starts with 'Get Away From Me' by the nasty-sounding Angels, a spirited piece of she-rock recorded around 1965, which was left on the shelf of Philadelphia's Swan Records until Ace rescued it some 40 years later.

And it ends with 'Glue' by the Ace Of Cups, a hippie band that Jimi Hendrix raved about in a 1967 Melody Maker interview. Elsewhere, the plucky Joyce Harris (think Wanda Jackson meets Tina Turner) teams up with Texas bar band The Daylighters to tear the roof off with 'I Got My Mojo Working'.

Mick Patrick shares informative expertise with his 3,000-word liner notes. All on cool black vinyl, of course!
