With his last self-titled album Brett Eldredge reached number 2 in the American album charts three years ago, now the country superstar is back with new music: On July 10, 2020 the new album "Sunday Drive" was released.
In the melancholy, piano-driven track "Gabrielle", which he wrote together with his award-winning producers Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves' Golden Hour), Eldredge reflects on the end of a relationship and finally wishes the other person all the best: "Oh, was it your heart or mine? / Was it just the wrong time, Gabrielle? / We never got very far / But, girl, wherever you are / I wish you well," Eldredge sings in the chorus of the song.
"'Gabrielle' is about a relationship that didn't quite work out and you always imagine what could have come out of it," says Brett Eldredge about the song. "Something great could have come about and you wonder what the other person is doing in their life right now and you bring back the feelings when you listen to the song."
