The young Romanian violinist Noucha Doina heard of herself in the early to mid-fifties. She lived in Paris and was already well known there when she was discovered by the Teldec talent scouts. Berthold (Bert) Kämpfert and Rudolf Maluck (better known as Béla Sanders) took her under their wing and produced a series of records that I found much later with Johann Carl Büchner and Ronald Schwarz.

Doina played George Boulanger's typical Romanian-Hungarian Oevre in her refreshing way. That was very well received at the time and still refreshes the hearts today, I think. This should be the first and only CD with Noucha Doina in this country.
