Gina Dobra was born on 8.11.1940 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The pop singer became quite popular in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She began her career as Gina George and Gina Morelli respectively. From 1960 she performed as Gina Dobra.

The pop song 'Mandolin Serenade', which she sang in the feature film 'Schön ist die Liebe am Königssee', achieved special popularity. With the title 'Moonlight-Melody' she had her only chart success at the beginning of 1961 (place 45). The single remained in the charts for four weeks. At the end of 1961 she won 1st prize with 'Jacky Jones from Oklahoma' and 2nd prize at the German Schlager Festival with 'Jonny, nehmen das Heimweh mit'. Gina Dobra released a few more singles until her career in the German-speaking world ended in the mid-60s. On this CD you can find the hits of her most successful period from 1960 to 1962.
