unfortunately a mistake happened when transferring the tapes and instead of the Flexi-Disc 'Academy' recording from 1956 the 'Lucky Four' version from 1961 was used on the pressing.
We have now included the correct version as a one-sided single in the original look (small center hole).
The collector now has 3 ingenious rockers by Lennie Lacour in one set!

Only one ‘50s rocker made his debut single as a tie-in with Orange Crush soda pop. Lennie LaCour’s one-sided cardboard seven-inch 78 rpm pressing of Rock-N-Roll Romance came attached to six-packs of the carbonated beverage in 1956, causing quite a sensation around Chicago and surrounding regions. LaCour waxed another jackhammer blazer, Rockin’ Rosalie, as a separate platter on Chicago’s Academy imprint.

The super-rare original Rock-N-Roll Romance from that long-ago soda pop freebie 78 graces one side of this delightful single, backed with Lennie’s Academy release Rockin’ Rosalie—rendering it a virtual greatest hits 45. So pop open a cold Orange Crush and prepare to hit the dance floor—Lennie LaCour’s rocking the house!

Big Rocker aka Lennie Lacour

Geboren außerhalb von Natchitoches, Louisiana und größtenteils französisch-kreolischer Abstammung, entwickelte sich LaCour zu einem facettenreichen Künstler: Sänger, Songwriter und schließlich Produzent und Labelbesitzer. Lennie wanderte nach Chicago aus und sang mit Al Petersons Orchester, bevor er einen Wettbewerb gewann, um einen Rock and Roll-Jingle für Orange Crush zu singen, und dann ging es ab!

Nachdem sein Zeit bei dem Academy-Label vorbei war, wurde LaCour von Leonard Chess geraten, doch sein eigenes Label zu gründen. Also startete er das Lucky Four-Logo und gab No Privacy unter seinem eigenen Namen heraus und dann 1961 als The Big Rocker. Mit dem Umzug nach Milwaukee, Wisconsin, gründete Lennie ein weiteres Label, Magic Touch, auf dem er bahnbrechende Soul-Singles von Harvey Scales & The 7 Sounds veröffentlichte, darunter solche ‘Killer’ wie Get Down und Love Itis. Der eigenwillige Produzent machte bis ins 21. Jahrhundert hinein Aufnahmen. --Bill Dahl
