ZK was a kind of forerunner band of Die Toten Hosen and existed from 1978 to 1981. Campino learned to sing and play the trumpet here and in 1980 Kuddel joined as guitarist. Andi was also part of the gang back then, allegedly as a roadie and photographer. Also in the core formation: Fabsi Fabian, now known from the Mimmis, and of course "Isi" Isbert, who founded the Panhandle Alks after ZK disbanded.

In the early punk scene, ZK were considered a Dadaist chaos group; some even claim that they invented so-called fun punk. This earned them a small but dedicated following. But ZK never aimed for longevity. The motto was: one album and then it's over! In retrospect, it remains unclear whether this motto was meant seriously from the beginning, but the fact is: After two single releases, the album Eddie's Salon was released on Rondo in 1981 - and shortly afterwards ZK went on a farewell tour. A tour, by the way, that was organised by the later Hosen manager Jochen Hülder and filmed by the later Hosen drummer Trini Trimpop. On this footage, Campi's classmate Breiti was later discovered in the audience and then considered as a guitarist for the Toten Hosen ... but that's another story.

In any case, Eddie's Salon has not been reissued since 1982, apart from a CD compilation from the nineties. Until now! Our good old friend Fabsi has spared neither expense nor effort to release a 40th anniversary edition of Eddie's Salon with his Weser Label on 03.12.2021. Completely remastered and lovingly remastered, this forgotten classic is finally being given a new lease of life. We hope you enjoy this release as much as we do.
