Growing up in Louisville, a small town in Illinois, Zimmerman discovered his love for country music while endlessly touring as a passenger alongside his father when they were once again hauling cars for resale or auction. His mother, on the other hand, introduced him to power chords and the vocal antics of 80's hair rock. His grandfather was the owner of a local car dealership (Mom was a top saleswoman there) and Zimmerman spent countless Sundays there spellbound listening to the memorable stories his grandfather and his buddies rallied everyone around.
