On his new album "Before And After", Young has ventured like a painter with a new color palette into an eclectic collection of mysterious songs. To do so, Young selected personal favorites from his repertoire to take a journey through his musical history as well as a solo journey to new places. His songs merge into a three-quarter hour flow through an intimate listening experience. Produced by Lou Adler and Neil Young, mixed by Young and Niko Bolas, also known as The Volume Dealers, this album is unlike any other album he has released to date.

Young describes "Before And After" succinctly, "The feeling is not captured in parts, but as a whole - designed to be listened to." This presentation of music resists clutter, digital organization and separation. Just for listening. That says it all".

New versions of the songs themselves move and change seamlessly with mesmerizing clarity, from his earliest Buffalo Springfield appearance, "Burned," to the most recent "Don't Forget Love" (from 2021's Barn) and the previously unreleased song "If You Got Love."
