She was real blues history! In her youth Katiewas a member of the Otis Redding Band,; the nshe started her own career. As a child she listened to the boogie woogie stars Pete Johnson, Albert Ammons and Meade Lux Lewis. She learned also a lot from the musicians who lived in her neibourhood, Lightnin’ Slim and Slim Harpo, who created the Swamp Blues.
