Teenbeat were a late part of the Rock'n'Roll explosion and the record industri now had a large and eager new market to sell to, the white teenagers. Most of the teenagers at that timeperiod were expected to work fulltime or join the armed forces after highschool graduation. So naturally many of them dreamt of a singing career as a way to make money, command a little respect, and also impress on girls.
Teeners were mostly a bunch of innocent kids and the commercial succes often didn't last more than a year or so. After that many of the teen artists disappeared from the scene and never took up their singin' again. In the mid 60's Teen-Beat started to climb downhill.
