The focus is on music from the late 1960s and early 1970s that eschewed Tolkien-esque fantasy and flower power and was instead inspired by the jazz, blues and soul of black American music.

This musical journey takes the listener from the hard Hammond organ groove of Deep Purple's US hit “Hush”, through the British blues of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Fleetwood Mac and Chicken Shack, jazz rock from Manfred Mann Chapter Three, The Johnny Almond Music Machine and Satisfaction, to the soulful vocals of Stevie Winwood, Sharon Tandy and Rod Stewart on CCS' funky “Brother”.
