Over the past 30 years, the films of Ken Burns have covered the Civil War, the Vietnam War, baseball, jazz and more. Ken Burns’ latest PBS documentary, “Country Music,” is an eight-part series featuring never-before-seen footage and photos of giants including Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and Charley Pride.

Over eight years, Burns and writer Dayton Duncan conducted more than 100 interviews to compile the film that is chronicling the story of country music from the hollers of West Virginia to the fields of California, which may be his most emotional and truly is a lesson in American history. Its soundtrack, the history of Country music, is a broad subject very hard to cover in just 2 CDs. But the selection is great anyway and it's worth it although it should have been at least four CDs!
