Knut Kiesewetter. Even in the former East Germany (DDR), singers were covering the Liverpudlians’ compositions. A special tribute song was recorded by an all-girl band called The Sweetles who wanted a Beatle as a birthday present....

It doesn’t matter if these German cover records were good or bad. Today, they evoke an era, and they’re highly sought-after among collectors, fetching huge prices.
