The 60s Anthology

These CDs are part of a comprehensive Bear Family series, 'Smash...!Boom...!Bang...!', dedicated to the mid-Sixties German Beat boom. At least 30 installments are planned, and each CD will contain between 20 and 30 titles, all re-mastered for the best possible sound quality.

The featured artists run the gamut from popular groups like the Rattles and the Lords to great unknowns like the Pages, the Poor Things, Pete Lancaster And The Upsetters, the Blizzards,
the Sound Riders and many more. Despite the CD revolution, many of these songs are making their first appearance on CD, and some are making their very first appearance anywhere!

Diese CDs sind Teil der umfassenden Bear-Family-Reihe 'Smash...! Boom...! Bang...!', die sich thematisch mit dem Beat-Boom der mittsechziger Jahre in Deutschland befasst und auf zunächst 30 Teile ausgelegt ist. Jede CD enthält zwischen 20 und 30 Titel in restaurierter, bestmöglicher Klangqualität.

Präsentiert werden populäre Bands wie die Rattles oder Lords, aber auch weniger bekannte Gruppen wie etwa die Pages, Poor Things, Pete Lancaster And The Upsetters, Blizzards, Sound Riders und viele andere. Eine Vielzahl von Songs erlebt rund 35 Jahre nach der Erstveröffentlichung ihre Premiere auf CD, diverse Titel sind bislang noch nie auf Tonträgern erhältlich gewesen.

Parallel zum CD-Projekt erscheint das Buch 'Shakin' All Over' (Verlag: High Castle), das über den Buchhandel oder über Bear Family bezogen werden kann. Autor Hans-Jürgen Klitsch, der auch die informativen Booklets für 'Smash...! Boom...! Bang...!' besorgte, zeichnet darin das bisher detaillierteste Bild der Beat-Jahre in Deutschland.
