After the Delmark/CrossCut joint venture production, 'Live In Europe' (ccd 11047, 1994) this is Dave's second live album. With his signature tone, the Chicago guitar player has eearned himself a worldwide reputation as one of the masters when it comes to blending jazz and blues.

He plays lowdown blues with a jazzy edge, rough and elegant at the same time. And he ain't no vocalist. This time he has three vocal guests, the fabulous Tad Robinson, Chicago female blues shouter Sharon Lewis, and Jimmy Johnson who was one of the first to create a new style of modern Chicago blues. His late '70s 'Johnson's Whacks' album (Delmark DE 644) was the beginning of a new era with its great mix of blues and soul. Altogether, this set is not less that outstanding in performance, taste and quality. Highly recommended. Also available on DVD.
