Linda Ronstadt has so many celebrities on one album when she reviews her life. She is best known for her seventies hits: the love ballad "Blue Bayou" or the party earworm "It's So Easy". But that's just the hit parade face of a diverse career as a musician that spans rock and pop, country, the Great American Songbook and opera. The name Linda Ronstadt stands for an unparalleled success story: among her many awards, no less than eleven Grammys stand out. Several albums achieved multi-platinum status, and in her heyday her concerts filled entire stadiums. Her duet partners ranged from Dolly Parton to Paul Simon to Johnny Cash. Ronstadt received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame.

Deep in her heritage, the Tucson, Arizona-born US-American of Mexican and German ancestry also reveals a very different musical vein. The sound of the Sonora region of the US-Mexican borderland flows in her. Now she has published a moving retrospective of this part of her life as a book and CD compilation, celebrating the formative songs of her past. And the crème de la crème of the American roots scene accompanies her on her touching sound journey.

Linda Ronstadt, eine von Hank Williams und Elvis Presley beeinflusste Ballladensängerin der Westküste, gründete 1964 zusammen mit den Freunden Bob Kimmel und Ken Edwards die Gruppe Stone Poneys, eine Gruppe, die recht erfolgreich war. Dennoch, 1968 trennte man sich und Linda Ronstadt startete ihre bis heute erfolgreiche Solokarriere. Hatten ihre Platten anfänglich noch einen starken Country-Touch, so neigte sie später, Ende der 70er und vor allem in den 80er Jahren, mehr der Rockmusik zu. Dennoch, ganz gleich, ob sie sich von Nashville Studio Musikern oder von Rock Leuten begleiten ließ, immer hat es Linda Ronstadt verstanden, ein sehr breitgefächertes Publikum zu begeistern. Immer wieder hat sie sich auch mit ihren Kolleginnen Dolly Parton und Emmylou Harris zu gemeinsamen Plattenproduktionen getroffen. Das jüngste Werk der drei Stars, eine gemeinsame L.P. unter dem Titel Trio“, veröffentlicht Anfang 1987."
