The Raymen first appeared on the scene in 1983, combining the essence of Bo Diddley, Hank Williams, Link Wray and Howlin' Wolf in the form of fiery voodoo garage punk. The Raymen's reverb-soaked echo-max rock 'n' roll soon earned them a cult following, and at last count, 13 albums have been released. In addition, frontman and founder Hank Ray has a string of solo releases on which he explores the darker side of American roots music. “Bible Belt Freakout”, however, focuses on the Raymen's voodoo trashabilly and delves deep into the archives to discover 27 previously unreleased tracks, many of which were thought to be lost and long forgotten. There are alternate versions of Raymen favorites as well as songs that have never surfaced on previous releases. The tracks date from 1984 to 1998, and “Bible Belt Freak Out” proves to be a veritable feast of rarities from one of the most influential underground punk rock 'n' roll bands of recent times.
