We've been searching for who we are as artists for a long time. For the first time we feel like we've found what we want to say and how we want to sound. It's not about chasing the charts; for us it's about being happy, being non-conformist and being proud of the music we make. Instead of hiring session players, we used our touring band, and that has made this record sound unique and more fun to play live as a unit. The record is loosely arranged to honor the artists who came before us. They recorded with few instruments and eschewed modern sounds and bells and whistles. It's the rawest and most real sound we could bring to it - no processing. Charlie played all the acoustic guitar parts, Gary did the same on electric guitar and so did the rest of the band. The songwriting covers a variety of topics including love, death, betrayal, heartbreak, murder and Southern pride. It may not be what you're used to hearing from us, but we see it as our perfect landing spot. As we see ourselves evolving into better artists and performers, we feel like we've found a perfect place to park the ship.
