Music Nashville's Corey Kent has revealed that his second album, appropriately titled Black Bandana, will be released on September 6, 2024.
“There are a few virtues I live my life by. They have guided me through the hardest and darkest times. One of them is unwavering hope... the belief that if the odds are one in a million, you'll be the one,” Kent says of his upcoming album. “Another is the relentless persistence... when everyone else gives up, you stay the course. This album epitomizes those virtues. We all have our battles to fight. We have to love and protect our people. It's not always easy. When the going gets tough and you want to wave the white flag, I hope this album inspires you to fly a black bandana instead.”
Inspired by the Eagles, Keith Richards, the Turnpike Troubadours and others, Kent's bandana-wearing rock 'n' roll spirit comes to life on stage. And after more than a decade of paying his dues, his career has not been without starts and stops...that perseverance serves as inspiration for the tour's name.
“For us, the black bandana was what we picked up in times when everyone thought we should wave the white flag and surrender,” Kent says. “I spent many years holding up my black bandana and letting them know I wasn't going to give up that easily. I'm so excited to still be doing what I love, and I can't wait to go on tour this fall and see all the black bandanas waving back at me.”
Musically, Kent straddles the line between rockin' country, heartland values and the ruggedness of the landscape. Although he is only 20 years old, he has built an incredible fan base, developed his live show over the last 15 years and is considered one of country music's next breakthrough stars.
