Janis Joplin is considered one of the great singers of rock and blues, who helped define the role of women in rock with her attitude and electrifying stage presence. With over 18.5 million albums sold, she remains one of the best-selling female musicians in the United States.
Pictured here is her 1969 performance at Het Concertgebouw, the classical concert hall in Amsterdam where many greats have performed. Janis was a frequent musical guest on the Dick Cavett Show. This recording contains her performances and her last interview before she died at the age of 27.
