Amy, guitarist, vocalist and the gore at the forefront, founded the Girls out of an uncontrollable and perhaps unhealthy fascination with the style and sass of classic '60s girl groups and the quivering sonic energy of an American industrial town in decay. As a member of the Sisterhood of the Gretsch, Marlene (affectionately known as The Hammer - listen and you'll hear why) joined shortly after as lead guitarist. Bassist Carol Anne Schumacher (who also finds time to play with The Detroit Cobras and Reigning Sound) and drummer Nicky Styxx round out the gore lineup on the album.
