First complete singles collection! Includes five bonus tracks. The source was all existing Mustang Master Tapes. All original mono single mixes. US singer, songwriter and guitarist Bobby Fuller experienced his most successful times between 1964 and 1966. His music was a return to easier times in the fast moving world of tomorrow. Fuller loved the instrumental surfer sound and his idol Buddy Holly. At the same time, he lived at a time when pop music was changing rapidly. As with Holly, his life ended in his early 20's and to this day the circumstances of his death are not clear.

This collection contains for the first time all singles of Bobby Fuller in their original mono single versions. Fuller's fans will not only discover different mixes, but in some cases also different performances and solos, which offer an exciting listening experience for the enthusiastic fan as well as for the newcomer. Also included are long lost Fuller productions for Jay Horton, as well as three Randy Fuller efforts shortly after Brother Bobby's death. The deluxe booklet also includes rare photos and detailed liner notes by music historian Andrew Sandoval!

Das erste Mal, als ich Bobby Fuller Four's Fought The Law" hörte, war ein Moment, den ich nie vergessen werde. Als ich in meinem Mustang einen staubigen Highway in Texas entlang fuhr, kam das Eröffnungsgitarrenriff aus dem AM-Radio und ich wusste, dass etwas Besonderes passieren würde. Als der Gesang einsetzte, war ich schon süchtig. Das war Rock'n' Roll Perfektion. Ich beschloss, mehr von Bobbys Katalog zu erforschen und entdeckte, dass er über fünf Jahre lang aufgenommen hatte, bevor "I Fought The Law" ein Top Ten Hit wurde. Geboren in Baytown, Texas, wuchs Bobby Fuller auf und hörte die Klänge seines texanischen Kollegen Buddy Holly und den Rockabilly-Sound. Nachdem er Anfang der 60er Jahre einige regionale Hits aufgenommen hatte, zog Bobby mit seiner Combo ins sonnige Los Angeles, wo er kurzzeitig mit Surfmusik experimentierte.

Er schloss sich dem legendären Produzenten Bob Keane an und veröffentlichte 1965-66 mehrere populäre Singles, darunter "The Magic Touch" und "Now She's Gone". Es war während dieser Zeit, dass Bobby begann, Spuren von britischem Rock und Psychedelia in sein Material zu integrieren. Die einzigartige Kombination erwies sich als wegweisend und einflussreich für eine Künstlergeneration. Sein großer Hit kam 1966 mit der Veröffentlichung von "I Fought The Law" und es schien, als wäre Bobby Fullers Star in vollem Aufstieg. Traurigerweise wäre es der letzte Treffer, den er hätte. Die Geschichte von Bobby Fullers Tod liest sich wie ein gutes Krimi. Tatsächlich gab es eine Episode von Unsolved Mysteries, die sich mit seinem mysteriösen Untergang befasste. Am 18. Juli 1966 wurde Bobby Fullers stark geschlagene Leiche in seinem geparkten Auto entdeckt.

Sein Tod wurde auf Asphyxie durch erzwungenes Einatmen von Benzin zurückgeführt und war unerklärlicherweise ein Selbstmord. In den Jahren seit seinem Tod gab es viele Gerüchte über diese Umstände - gab es eine Vertuschung bei der Polizei? War die Mafia beteiligt? Während die wahren Fakten über Bobby Fullers Tod nie enthüllt werden, wird sein Vermächtnis der Musik für immer erhalten bleiben.
