Virginia-born bluegrass pioneer Rebecca Frazier found herself on a whole new journey of inspiration and invention. For the flatpicking luminary, who gained notoriety in the music world as the first woman to ever appear on the cover of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine, this creative rebirth became her most compelling work to date: “Boarding Windows in Paradise”. Like generations of her ancestors who lived on the Virginia shore, she has weathered life's storms and winds - and experienced life's radiant beauty - and wanted to capture that juxtaposition on this record. Frazier's connection to Grammy-winning producer Bill Wolf, known for his work with Tony Rice and the Grateful Dead, was the catalyst. Frazier worked with bluegrass icons Béla Fleck, Sam Bush, Stuart Duncan, Josh Swift, Barry Bales, Rob Block and Byron House, as well as heavyweights Trey Hensley, Love Canon and Shelby Means, to create an album of sheer originality while paying tribute to those who inspired it.
