The Grateful Dead's last concert

50 years have passed since their formation, 20 since their last concert for the time being. On July 9, 1995, the Grateful Dead performed for the last time at the historic Soldier Field in Chicago before their frontman Jerry García died of a heart attack just one month later. The band announced their split in December of that year.

On July 3, 4 and 5, 2015, the Grateful Dead reunited at the same venue where they had played their last gig in 1995.

With “Grateful Dead: Fare Thee Well (Live Best Of)”, a comprehensive compilation of the legendary concert on July 5 is now available on two CDs, two DVDs and two Blu-rays.

The entire performance is also available with "Grateful Dead: Fare Thee Well ” in a set with a total of three CDs and two DVDs or Blu-rays.

Around 200,000 people came to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary and to commemorate Jerry García. Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart took to the stage once again and played two sets of many of their greatest hits on three consecutive evenings. They were supported by Trey Anastasio on guitar, Jeff Chimenti on keyboards and Bruce Hornsby on piano.

With “Grateful Dead: Fare Thee Well (Live Best Of)”, a best-of of the band's legendary last performance is finally being released. This concert is a piece of rock history and a must, not just for Deadheads! with the unique sequence “Morning Dew”, “Playing In The Band”, “Uncle John's Band” and “Playing In The Band”.
