After open-heart surgery that saved his life in January 2019, Charley considered shortening his life just a little, but once he recovered, he did just the opposite.
"I wanted to make an album that would change the whole discussion about country music." This album is now "Welcome to Hard Times", a longplayer with a fitting name that fits perfectly with those difficult days, although it was made just before the pandemic.
