Like its predecessor “Lonesome Drifter”, “Dollar A Day” was recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound Studio 3 in Hollywood. Charley himself says: "With ‘Lonesome Drifter’ we had the feeling that we had opened a door. With ‘Dollar A Day’ we stepped through and arrived on the other side."
