Confrederate Railroad
Confederate Railroad is an American Country Rock band founded in 1987 by Danny Shirley (Vocal, rhythm guitar) in Marietta, Georgia as The Danny Shirley Band. Other members were Mark Dufresne (Drums), Michael Lamb (Lead guitar), Chris McDaniel (Keyboards), Warren 'Gates' Nichols (Steel guitar) and Wayne Secrest (Bass guitar). After serving as a back up band for the Country outlaws David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck they signed their first recording contract with Atlantic Records in 1991 and changed their band's name into Confederate Railroad. The self-titled debut album became a million seller and 4 more albums followed for Atlantic. The band released a total of six studio albums and a live album. 20 of their singles went straight into the 'Billboard Hot Country Songs' charts.
