Confrederate Railroad

Confederate Railroad ist eine amerikanische Country Rock Band, die 1987 von Danny Shirley (Vocal, rhythm guitar) in Marietta, Georgia, zunächst als Danny Shirley Band gegründet wurde. Weitere Mitglieder waren Mark Dufresne (Drums), Michael Lamb (Lead guitar), Chris McDaniel (Keyboards), Warren 'Gates' Nichols (Steel guitar) und Wayne Secrest (Bass guitar). Nachdem sie als Begleitband für die Country Outlaws David Allan Coe und Johnny Paycheck fungiert hatten, unterschrieben sie 1991 bei Atlantic Records ihren ersten Schallplattenvertrag und benannten sich in Confederate Railroad um. Das gleichnamige erste Album wurde ein Million Seller und 4 weitere Alben für Atlantic folgten. Insgesamt veröffentlichte die Band sechs Studio Alben und ein Live-Album. 20 ihrer Singles erreichten die 'Billboard Hot Country Songs'-Charts.
