Jessi Colter's first solo album was released by RCA in 1970 and was produced by Chet Atkins and Waylon Jennings. Also on this release is the duet album with her husband Waylon Jennings, "Leather And Lace" from 1981, a collaboration that made it into the US Billboard and Country Charts. The single "What's Happened To Blue Eyes" was a Top 5 US Country Charts hit. Jennings died in 2002 at the age of 64, while Jessi recently wrote her autobiography and recorded new music. Als Komponistin schrieb sie Songs für Don Gibson, Anita Carter, Marion Worth, Dottie West und viele andere. Als Sängerin ist sie so ein bisschen eine Eintagsfliege geblieben. über ihren Ehemann Waylon Jennings fand sie Eingang in die Outlaw Szene der 70er Jahre, doch blieb sie stets, auch in Duett-Aufnahmen zusammen mit Jennings, zweitklassig.
