The "Queen of Outlaw Country" has returned to her crossover sound of 1970s country, rock, soul and gospel with "Edge of Forever," a collaboration with one of today's best-known independent country artists, Margo Price. Price produced the album with her band The Price Tags and assisted Jessi on a 10-song collection of new songs as well as favorites suggested to her and Waylon Jennings over the years - her son, producer, artist and engineer Shooter Jennings, mixed the album.

Als Komponistin schrieb sie Songs für Don Gibson, Anita Carter, Marion Worth, Dottie West und viele andere. Als Sängerin ist sie so ein bisschen eine Eintagsfliege geblieben. über ihren Ehemann Waylon Jennings fand sie Eingang in die Outlaw Szene der 70er Jahre, doch blieb sie stets, auch in Duett-Aufnahmen zusammen mit Jennings, zweitklassig.
